When teaching or studying another language, one of the first things you learn is how to count in the other language. Perhaps you only learn how to count to one hundred, but those few numbers can help you accomplish numerous tasks.
numerous — an adjective meaning “many” or “consisting of great numbers of things”
numeroso/numerosa — the Spanish masculine and feminine adjective cognates of the same meanings (Spanish tends to use “muchos” or “muchas” for “many”)
When I was teaching Spanish, and when I would teach the numbers to my students, I would write the word “números” on the board and then start listing the names of the “numbers.” The “numerous” words associated with “numbers” come to us from Latin’s numerus which means “number.”
